SPECIAL INTEREST TOURSOrnithological Tour: With specialized guides in birds observation, we will go to places to identify birds, both urban and rural. Tour of churches: Because La Serena is the city of the belfries because of the large amount of churches it has, in this tour we will learn the stories and legends of each of them. Tour of the wetlands: We will have the opportunity to visit some of the coastal wetlands of Coquimbo, where it is possible to observe birds and identify fauna from these big ecosystems. Flowery Desert Tour: The Flowery Desert is a climatic phenomenon that takes place in the Atacama Desert, in the third region, nowadays because it is a dynamic phenomenon it is possible to see it partially in the coastal zone of the fourth region. The phenomenon consists of the appearance of a big diversity of flowers between September and November, in the years in which precipitations are unusual. This tour depends on the rain and the temperatures because every year its plenitude changes. Tour of the pisco: It includes visits to the main pisco plants of the region, with products tasting, and after learning from specialized guides, it is possible to learn the process of making and distillation. Astronomical Tour: Includes visits to the main observatories of the region, both amateur and scientific. Religious Tour “La Serena, Coquimbo y Andacollo”
The trip begins at 09.00 in the morning, from the hotel to the city of Andacollo. The commune of Andacollo is located about 56 kilometers south west from La Serena. Immersed between two hills, this town is a part of the last ramifications of the Andes Mountain range, and it is located 1.100 meters above sea level. As a regional tradition, we visit the two most important churches of this religious community, a trip around the entire town, main square, and the museum of the church. Once finished, we let you spend some free time to visit the craft stands or simply to rest. We return to La Serena, regional capital, visit the archaeological museum, then we continue the trip to the Cathedral, and some of the many churches of the city. Then we go to have lunch in a downtown restaurant, and continue our trip towards the city of Coquimbo, where finally we will go up to the III Millenium Cross and then visit the Mosque of Coquimbo.

Río Hurtado Route Nat. Monument San Pedro de Pichasca
We begin from La Serena towards Limarí Valley. Once we get to the regional Capital of Limarí, the pretty city of Ovalle, we continue towards the Recoleta reservoir, beautiful place who welcomes us to this gorgeous commune. There we can take pictures and begin this big adventure. We continue towards Tahuinco, Tabaqueros and Huampulla, interesting hamlets that are located at the base of the hills. We will have the opportunity to taste typical products (Marmalades, delicacy, sweets) accompanied of the great amiability and hospitality of its people. Then we go to the communal capital, Samo Alto, where we will visit the centenary square and its ancient church, icon of the religious patrimony of Rio Hurtado. We continue to the Natural Monument Pichasca. Here we will be welcomed by the park guard, who will join us to the Environmental Information Center, where we will be able to see the replica of a dinosaur, the rocky eave, interpretation footpaths where there are trunk rests of araucarias fossils and we will follow the footpaths observing the local flora and take pictures among the beautiful sceneries and the replica of the dinosaur. After a delicious lunch with kneaded bread, we will return to La Serena.

Valle del Encanto by night “Archae-astronomy Route”
We start our entertaining and fascinating tour from La Serena. Once we get there, we will enjoy a guided visit of the Natural Monument Valle del Encanto (Delight Valley). Here the visitors will obtain an interpretation of the sacred space based on the stone art (cup stones) and the archaeological evidence (petroglifos) located in the place. With the light of lanterns we can appreciate the site from a different perspective than during the daytime. This observation is guided by an expert guide in archeo-astronomy, with wide experience in publications. Then we will be able to enjoy ancestral stories, and under the stars, we will have the opportunity to enjoy an artistic moment in an ambience full of misticism, in a fun way with a story teller and music. We continue this tour following the Milky Way and learning the main stellar objects that it is only possible to watch from these latitudes: open heaps, irregular galaxies, stellar nebulas, globular heaps and planets, all this accompanied by guides specialized in astronomy. We end the tour with a delicious cocktail of wines and regional products.

Gold Route Andacollo
We begin this tour going to Andacollo, town with very religious people, there we will visit the two most important local churches, the minor basilica and the small temple, then the museum of the Virgin and the “Yahuín“ Museum Room, and Andacolllita stone crafts. Also we visit the main square and the craft stands. We continue to the solar kitchens to have a delicious lunch. Then we visit the The Bull, panoramic sight of the open mine Teck Carmen, from where it is possible to see the work at the interior of the mine with new generation machineries. We continue visiting the ancient facilities that are still used for small miners where they extract the wealths that earth provides. The process of grinding minerals is made in the "maray" and "trapiches", showing the tourists the extraction of the gold, cateo and grinding to later observe the obtaining of small pips of gold. We end this interesting tour visiting the entrepreneur Viviana Soto, who tells us about her quarts therapies. Then, we go back to La Serena.

Horseback riding To Rio Limarí estuary
Once we get to La Punilla (Micito), we prepare ourselves for an unforgettable cavalcade… We begin the coastal dry land Patrimonial Route of the commune, where we will be amazed by the beautiful ecosystem of the native forest, where the vegetation is unique, and the wetlands of Limarí River come together in one of the most picturesque fishing coves of the coastal rim. This beautiful 4 hour cavalcade takes place in the middle of a beautiful scenery, tacking and crossing wetlands, surrounded by impressive sceneries, horseriding accompanied by local muleteers sharing their stories and experiences with us. After this beautiful and adventurer trip we go to the cove to delight with an exquisit lunch based on seafood.

Tongoy Route El Tangue
We start this fun tour with destination Tongoy, nowadays this beach is well known by its pretty beaches and gastronomic specialities, nevertheless it is also a town full of history. We will learn the interesting story of the railroad and the life and works of the great Chilean poet Victor Domingo Silva. Once we visit its pretty beaches we will go to the wharf, where we will be able to taste some delicious fresh scallops just taken off the water. We continue to the wetlands: Pachingo, Salinas Chicas y Salinas Grande. These wetlands form a network inserted in a semiarid zone, causing a wide biodiversity of species. Here it is possible to observe the great quantity of birds and vegetable species. We continue towards El Tangue estate, located in the estuary of Pachingo, just a few minutes from Tongoy,with beautiful houses made of mud and totora. Its architecture and scenery, make this place unique. His inhabitants mainly dedicated to raise cattle, will show us their shear shed where in October it is possible to see the process insitu. After admiring the buildings that mostly mantain their original structure, we will take some footpaths to know the place. We return to Tongoy to have a delicious lunch. We finish visiting the Hill of the Virgin and taking some Tongoy craft samples.

Artisans Tour Elqui Valley
For whom already know Valle de Elqui, but only what the traditional tours offer, we have thought about this alternative tour, where we can see the wonderful landscapes and their people... We begin towards El Molle to visit the outstanding regional artist Montserrat Castedo. Rupalí, is licensed in Fine arts by Dominican University of San Rafael, California, USA. The art of Rupalí is based on the use of cotton cloth scraps that she mixes with needle and thread, leading motives that invite to meditation. Her subjects cover a wide range: from figurative fauna or landscaping that reflects the mountainous environment of the mountain range up to the abstraction of a contemplative state expressed in cloth mandalas, which are the faithful reflex of the search and the meeting of a life form that is only acquired in Elqui Valley. Through Vicuña we get to Mamalluca to visit the Capra products, 100% prepared by hand, without petrochemical, nor synthetic products, where we will be able to enjoy the guided process, visit the ecofarm and get to know her life style. We continue to Diaguitas village to cover Diaguitas Craftsmen's route, where we will be able to visit diverse craftsmen who have formed this route full of talents and artistic capacity. Their crafts are ceramics, wood craft, metal, macramé, cane textiles, musical instruments, and an important number of people who devote themselves to the making of sweets, marmalades, dry fruits and beekeeping. Also we will visit the Guayacan beer plant, where we will be able to learn the process and taste an exquisite handmade beer. By the end we will visit Horcón, little village that presents us all its miscellaneous crafts in one place, a pretty fair that shows the talents of the people of the village.
